The Role of the Parents in Christian Counseling for Children

Most parents will want to take an active part in helping their children. They may have questions about things like client-counselor confidentiality. With children under thirteen, counselors are exempt from the requirements of strict confidentiality, and indeed, younger children are often more at ease with a parent present during the sessions.

Your child’s counselor will discuss things with you like confidentiality and how you can best help your child to make the most of the counseling.
